Pyramiden Featured in Colossal

My project Pyramiden has just been featured by This is Colossal, a leading webzine dedicated to art, design, and photography.

In her article published on July 24, 2026, writer Grace Ebert revisits this series shot across the polar settlements of Pyramiden, Barentsburg, and Longyearbyen, on Norway’s Svalbard archipelago, where time seems suspended since Soviet mining operations ceased in 1998. She highlights how these places, though deserted, have retained a striking integrity: school desks still open, an unblemished statue of Lenin, a vividly painted monument standing out against the snow.

The article quotes my own words on this approach: “The place has not been abandoned. It has been left in suspension.”

This photographic work will result in a limited-edition book, to be released in September. You can read the full article on This is Colossal, and pre-order the book directly in the Book section of this site.
